Good Class

This class opened my eyes to what math really is!
Posted by Naomi Graham on 07/11/2026Of all the math courses I have taken so far, Group Theory in Mathematics has been my favorite. With an interesting and well-written textbook written by Mr. Alons, learning new concepts was fun and exciting! Mr. Alons responded to any questions with a lot of thought. Being able to discuss concepts and problems with my classmates really helped the math to come alive; hearing other perspectives was so helpful!
One of my favorite things about this course was that none of the grading was based on correctness. Instead, it was based on completion. For me, as a perfectionist, this opportunity to not worry about “being right” really helped me to grow in thinking outside the box and to experiment with the problems.
This class is perfect for other dedicated math-lovers. I would highly recommend it!!
