GREAT COURSE

Dr. Lavin is a great teacher and is always willing to give out extra sources for people interested in Environmental Science. There is a good amount of reading and quizzes to do but Dr. Lavin makes this class as stress-free as possible! You would get lots of FRQ practice and helpful comments, and MCQ practice throughout the year. Anyone willing to spend the time to read would DEFINITELY be prepared for the AP exam at the end of the year.

- Did you feel the course prepared you for the AP exam?
- This course definitely prepared me for the exam. This was my first AP class, so I was new to the AP tests. However, we did many FRQs and MCQs in class to help us prepare, so I was confident when I took the test. Mrs. Lavin really worked with us to make sure we were ready.
- How many hours of work per day or per week did you generally put into the course?
- I put in about 2 hours a day, or roughly 10-12 hours a week. On days when we had a lab, I worked about 3 hours a day.
- Are there any particular favorite assignments that you found especially valuable?
- I enjoyed doing the InQuiz assignments. I found them to be very valuable, especially since it allows you multiple tries to get the correct answer. This helped me really learn the material through my mistakes. The many FRQs we did in class were also very helpful when it came time to take the test.
- Did the course enhance your interest in the subject?
- It definitely did! I learned a lot and I am now way more informed about my actions and the environment.
- Did you find your communications with the other students to be interesting or valuable?
- I did not communicate with the other students very much, however there were multiple opportunities to. When we did the "What Would You Do?" questions in class, we did at times have some discussions which were fun and informative.
- What sort of student would do well in this course? Would you recommend this course to other students (if they are willing to work hard!)?
- I would recommend this class to anyone! The material is not super hard, but you do need to be willing to put the work in. Mrs Lavin is a great teacher, and she always very helpful and willing to answer any questions. She is also very fair when it comes to grading. I loved this class and I highly recommend it!

I find the inquizitive to be the best thing, that helped me the most. All the question to review and go over was great, I really liked the course because I taught me a lot about the environment. So, I would definitely recommend this course to someone else who is taking Environmental Science .
